Bridal Gown & Memorabilia Preservation
The Prestige Preservation
Program specializes
in gown heirlooming. The total program provides to the cleaner
and bridal gown stores a complete package that sells itself.
An in-store display is available that includes a decorative display stand
that presents to your customer the beautiful preservation package.
Bridal gown preservation heir-looming begins with expert
cleaning and restoration by highly experienced textile technicians
who are trained in fabric identification, garment construction
and care. After careful and specialized cleaning, the gown is
surrounded with acid free tissue, shaped with a bust form and
preserved in an acid free inner box.
The museum quality storage box is sealed and wrapped with air-tight
plastic, which allows viewing of the gown. Oxygen is then purged
and the preservation box is infused with nitrogen to create an
enhanced protective environment which further guards against
oxidation and assure moisture control. The gown is guaranteed
not to age or yellow while in the Museum Quality durable long-term
storage chest, preserving
the gown for future generations.

For all of life's memories.
For all the many items that we would want to
preserve: flower girl dresses, heirloom children and adult
dresses, uniforms, and costumes. Prestige can preserve these
items using the same processes as described above for bridal
gown preservation.
Tips for
Dry Cleaners
- Please Pin
Tag All Items
- Please take
your customer's complete name and daytime phone number.
- Look for visible
stains and try to determine the origin of the stain and note
it on your invoice.
- Ask if there
are any substances that may be invisible at the time of inspection.
- Check closely
for snags and tears.
- Close-fitting
areas should be examined for yarn and seam slippage.
- If the gown
has been stored for a long period of time or is very old, the
tensile strength of the fabric should be evaluated. Areas for
weakness include the underarms, lace areas, and close-fitting
portions of the gown.
- If the beads,
lace, feathers, and the other trims have been attached by glue
and cannot be safely processed, we will notify you to obtain
customer consent prior to processing.
